While Megan understands that therapy can take hard work and commitment, she believes it can lead to tremendous healing and enhanced quality of life.

Perinatal Populations

Working with perinatal clients requires a compassionate, sensitive, and non-judgmental approach. This period can bring immense joy, but also significant emotional, physical, and psychological stressors. Clients may be navigating changes in identity, relationships, sleep, hormones, and mental health, often while feeling pressure to “get it right.”

As a psychologist and a mother, Megan recognizes that this vulnerable time period requires safety, support, and empathy. While experiences relating to postpartum anxiety, depression, or rage can lead to feelings of shame, it is important to remember that these responses are not a reflection of failure, but rather common and valid reactions to the profound changes and pressures of the perinatal period. In her work with perinatal clients, Megan is mindful of the losses that can accompany this period whether it be challenges related to conception or loss of a pregnancy or child.

Equine Assisted Therapy

In addition to traditional forms of therapy, Megan also provides Equine Assisted Therapy with the support of equine handlers at Parsons Animal Rescue Foundation in Ardrossan, AB.

Megan recognizes that healing is not one-size-fits-all. For some, traditional talk therapy may feel limiting or inaccessible, which is why offering non-traditional approaches—like Equine Assisted Therapy can be so powerful. It provides alternative ways for individuals to connect with themselves, process emotions, and build resilience. Working alongside equines can create a unique therapeutic space that feels less clinical and more grounded, especially for those who find comfort in nature, animals, or hands-on experiences. By expanding what therapy can look like, Megan aims to offer meaningful, personalized pathways to growth and healing.
